NCT ID NCT07162272

First seen Nov 01, 2025

Summary

This study tested whether melatonin patches can reduce dental anxiety in children aged 5-7. Fifty-two kids were split into two groups: one got melatonin patches on their forearm 30 minutes before treatment, the other got placebo stickers. Researchers measured anxiety using a child-friendly scale, plus pulse and blood pressure, at several points during the visit.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a natural, safe way to help children feel less anxious during dental visits.
