First seen Nov 15, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking melatonin for 30 days can help women going through perimenopause feel better. Twenty-four women aged 45 or older with irregular periods took either melatonin or a placebo pill. Researchers measured changes in menopause symptoms, sleep quality, mood, and pain. The goal was to see if melatonin is a safe, non-hormonal option to ease common symptoms like hot flashes and poor sleep.
