First seen Mar 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tests whether melatonin can reduce excessive crying in healthy newborns with colic. 165 babies aged 14-20 days who cry more than 3 hours a day will receive either melatonin or a placebo (multivitamin drops) for up to 28 days. Parents will record crying times daily. The goal is to see if melatonin is a safe and effective option to ease colic and reduce parent anxiety.
