First seen Mar 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether melatonin can reduce excessive crying in newborns (infant colic). 165 healthy babies who cry more than 3 hours a day will receive either melatonin or a placebo (multivitamin drops) for up to 28 days. Researchers will compare crying times between the two groups to see if melatonin is safe and effective.
