Personalized vaccine plus immunotherapy shows promise against advanced melanoma

Summary
This study tested whether adding a personalized cancer vaccine (RO7198457) to the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab works better than pembrolizumab alone for people with advanced melanoma that hasn't been treated before. The trial included 131 participants with stage III or IV melanoma. The main goal was to see if the combination helped keep the cancer from growing longer. This is not a cure, as melanoma may still require ongoing management.
