Less surgery may be just as effective for advanced melanoma after immunotherapy

Summary
This study tests whether removing only the largest affected lymph node (index node) is as good as removing all lymph nodes in the area for stage III melanoma. After 6 weeks of standard immunotherapy, 1500 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries. The goal is to see if the less extensive surgery leads to fewer side effects like swelling and wound problems, while still keeping the cancer from coming back for at least 2 years.
