What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
nivolumab (Opdivo)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that giving immunotherapy before surgery helps shrink advanced melanoma and improves long-term outcomes.
What could go wrong
This is a mid-stage trial with only 90 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Immunotherapy can cause immune-related side effects.
