First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study examined whether melanoma cells can lie dormant in healthy tissue near a tumor and whether their presence affects long-term survival. Researchers followed 226 adults with early-stage melanoma for 5 years, checking for these hidden cells and tracking survival and recurrence. The goal was to better understand how melanoma spreads and to improve prognosis.
