New Two-Pronged attack on deadly melanoma brain tumors

Summary
This study is testing a two-step treatment for people with advanced melanoma that has a specific genetic change (BRAF mutation) and has spread to the brain, causing symptoms. First, patients take two targeted pills for about two months, then switch to two immunotherapy drugs given by IV for up to two years. The main goal is to see if this approach can keep the brain tumors from growing for at least six months in more patients than previous treatments.
