New tool could predict broken bones in rare disease patients

NCT ID NCT07507942

First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests a computer tool called MEKANOS to see if it can better predict when a person with Fibrous Dysplasia or McCune-Albright Syndrome might break a bone. About 20 adults with these rare bone disorders will have their hip scans analyzed by the tool. The goal is to improve how doctors assess fracture risk, which is currently a big challenge for these patients.
