Can a mediterranean diet make pregnancy healthier?

NCT ID NCT05868954

Summary

This study tested whether following a Mediterranean diet during pregnancy is better than standard healthy eating advice for women who are overweight or obese. Forty-one pregnant women were randomly assigned to receive either Mediterranean diet counseling or standard diet counseling, and were provided free food to help them follow the plans. Researchers measured how well women stuck to their diets, their weight gain, and various health markers to see which approach led to better outcomes for mother and baby.
