NCT ID NCT07189637
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether combining the Mediterranean diet with intermittent fasting can lower blood pressure in people newly diagnosed with hypertension. Researchers will enroll 48 adults aged 40-65 with high blood pressure and a healthy weight. Participants will receive nutrition education and be followed to see if this diet approach helps control their condition.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Mediterranean diet and intermittent fasting
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a natural, drug-free way to manage high blood pressure through diet alone.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 48 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Dietary changes can be hard to stick with long-term.
