New keyhole breast surgery could offer better looks and same safety

NCT ID NCT07539545

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study compares a newer, less invasive breast-conserving surgery (using small incisions and an endoscope) to the standard open surgery for women with early-stage breast cancer. About 1,366 women aged 18-70 will take part to see if the new method leads to better cosmetic results, similar safety, and equal cancer control over five years. The goal is to find a gentler option that still removes the cancer effectively.
