Radiation boost for spreading prostate cancer: a game changer?

NCT ID NCT06150417

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving radiation therapy to areas where prostate cancer has spread (called metastasis-directed radiotherapy) can help control the disease better than the usual treatment. About 200 men with newly diagnosed prostate cancer that has spread will receive hormone therapy for 12 months and radiation to the prostate. Half will also get radiation to their metastatic spots. The goal is to see if this extra radiation delays cancer progression. Participants will be followed for up to five years.
