Ultrasound reveals jaw muscle secrets in oral cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT06941727

First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how stiff the jaw muscles are in people who have had treatment for oral cancer, and whether that stiffness is linked to how wide they can open their mouth. Researchers will use a special ultrasound to measure muscle hardness and then see if exercise training can improve mouth opening. The goal is to find a simple way to predict and treat jaw tightness after cancer therapy.
