Plant protein shows promise against oral cancer in early study
NCT ID NCT04188665
First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This early-phase study looked at whether a plant protein called MASL can target a receptor (podoplanin) found on oral cancer cells. Researchers tested cells from 18 people with oral cancer or precancerous lesions to see if MASL could slow growth. The goal was to understand how the receptor works and if MASL might be a future treatment.
