First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This phase 3 trial tests whether adding masitinib to standard ALS treatment (riluzole) can slow the loss of physical function better than placebo plus riluzole. About 412 adults with ALS will take the drug or placebo for 48 weeks. The main goal is to measure changes in daily abilities using the ALSFRS-R scale, which tracks movement, breathing, and quality of life.
