New hope for Moms-to-Be suffering from debilitating pregnancy itch
NCT ID NCT07389031
Summary
This study is testing whether a medication called maralixibat is safe and tolerable for pregnant women with a liver condition called intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), which causes severe itching and elevated bile acids. The main goal is to check for side effects in about 28 participants. Researchers will also measure if the drug helps reduce the women's worst daily itching and lowers their bile acid levels over a three-week treatment period.
