First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether maple syrup can be a natural energy source for trained male cyclists. Thirty-two participants will drink different amounts of maple syrup during long bike rides to see if it helps them finish a 20-kilometer time trial faster. Researchers will also check how the body uses fuel and whether the syrup causes stomach discomfort.
