First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at whether antibiotics are needed after surgery for a broken jaw. About 2,841 adults with jaw fractures will be split into three groups: no antibiotics after surgery, a short course, or the standard longer course. The goal is to see if skipping or reducing antibiotics is safe and effective in preventing infections, while also helping to fight antibiotic resistance.
