First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested a new malaria vaccine (PfSPZ-LARC2) in 75 healthy adults and children in Burkina Faso. The vaccine uses genetically weakened malaria parasites that grow in the liver but cannot cause blood infection. The goal was to see if it is safe and triggers a strong immune response against malaria.
