First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested a special ureteral stent with a magnetic end in 67 children with urinary tract problems or kidney transplants. What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
magnetic-end Double-J ureteral stent
What this could lead to
If successful, this could make stent removal easier and avoid the need for general anesthesia in children.
What could go wrong
This is a small feasibility study (67 children) with no control group, so results may not apply broadly. The magnetic removal system may fail in some cases.
