Magnet-Powered scope could make colonoscopy easier for IBD patients

NCT ID NCT06989424

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This early study will test a new device called the Magnetic Flexible Endoscope (MFE) in 6 adults with stable inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The MFE uses a tiny camera and magnet at its tip, guided by an external robotic magnet, to travel through the colon. Researchers want to see if it can reach the end of the colon and how comfortable it is for patients.
