Summary
This study looked at whether adding magnesium supplements to standard depression treatment (fluoxetine) could improve thinking and memory. Forty adults with major depression took either fluoxetine alone or fluoxetine plus magnesium for six weeks. Researchers measured changes in cognitive function and a brain-related protein called BDNF.
