First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested a new surgical technique for people with macular holes (a hole in the center of the retina) that did not close after standard surgery. The approach moves a thin membrane from the retina to cover the hole. The study included 16 adults who had at least one prior surgery. The main goal was to see if the membrane stays in place and helps the hole close.
