First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests a treatment called MACI for people with damaged ankle cartilage that causes pain and limits activity. MACI uses a patient's own cartilage cells grown on a special membrane to repair the defect. The trial compares MACI to a standard bone marrow stimulation procedure in 309 adults aged 17 to 65. The goal is to see if MACI provides better pain relief and function over two years.
