AI and ultrasound join forces to crack the code of back pain

NCT ID NCT06818175

First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study aims to improve how we understand and treat low back pain by using ultrasound imaging and machine learning (a type of artificial intelligence). Researchers will compare images from people with and without back pain to find better ways to diagnose the problem. They will also test two treatments—hydrodissection (a fluid injection) and osteopathic manipulation (hands-on therapy)—in people with chronic low back pain to see if they help. The study involves 200 adults aged 18-50.
