New hope for lingering lyme? early trial tests antibiotic pulses

NCT ID NCT06611111

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether giving an approved antibiotic, ceftriaxone, in short, repeated doses (about every 5 days for 6 weeks) is safe and can help reduce symptoms in adults who still feel unwell after finishing standard Lyme disease treatment. Researchers will compare the antibiotic to a placebo (inactive substance) in 44 participants to see if it lessens fatigue, pain, and other ongoing problems. The main goal is to check safety and see if symptoms improve.
