New hope for lingering lyme sufferers? early trial tests 'Pulse' antibiotic approach
NCT ID NCT06611111
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether giving an approved antibiotic (ceftriaxone) through an IV every 5 days for 6 weeks is safe and can help reduce persistent symptoms like fatigue and pain in adults who were treated for Lyme disease but still feel unwell. Researchers will compare the effects of the antibiotic to a placebo (inactive substance) in 44 participants. The main goals are to check for safety and see if symptoms improve.
