First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests a gene therapy called LX111 for diabetic macular edema, a condition that causes vision loss from swelling in the back of the eye. About 32 adults who have already responded to standard anti-VEGF injections will receive a single shot of LX111 in one eye. Researchers will monitor safety and measure changes in vision and retinal thickness for up to a year.
