Scientists probe why heart pump patients get infections

Summary
This study aims to understand why patients who receive a mechanical heart pump (LVAD) often get serious infections afterwards. Researchers will look back at the medical records of 120 patients to see how often infections occurred and check if changes in their immune system are linked to these infections. The goal is to identify risk factors to help doctors better predict and prevent these complications in the future.
