Massive 2,000-Person lupus study seeks disease origins
NCT ID NCT00001372
Summary
This National Institutes of Health study aims to learn how systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) develops, changes over time, and what genetic factors make someone susceptible. It will observe and collect data from up to 2,000 patients (age 3+) with known or suspected lupus and their relatives, but does not test new treatments. Participants will undergo regular check-ups, blood tests, and optional procedures like imaging or biopsies to help researchers understand the disease's natural course.
