Can a storyteller calm kids before surgery?
NCT ID NCT03740841
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether a handheld interactive storytelling device called LUNII could help reduce anxiety in young children before surgery. It involved 15 children, aged 4 to 6, who were having bone graft surgery for cleft lip and palate. Researchers compared anxiety, pain, and hospital stay length between children who used the device before surgery and those who did not.
