Tiny lungs, big questions: new study peers inside preterm Babies' breathing

NCT ID NCT07237139

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at how the lungs of preterm babies change volume when they receive synchronized noninvasive ventilation (sNIPPV). Researchers will use a safe imaging technique (EIT) to compare different types of breaths. The goal is to understand why sNIPPV works better than other breathing support. About 27 infants born before 30 weeks will take part.
