Ultrasound vs. blood test: which better spots lung trouble in ICU?
NCT ID NCT05631756
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked at 86 ICU patients with a lung condition called interstitial syndrome. Researchers wanted to see if a lung ultrasound score (LUSS) could accurately measure how severe the condition is, compared to a standard blood oxygen test (PaO2/FiO2). They checked both at the start, then again after 24 and 48 hours. The goal was to find a faster, non-invasive way to monitor these patients.
