Simple ultrasound may predict breathing trouble in late preterm newborns

NCT ID NCT07216053

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a lung ultrasound done shortly after birth can predict which late preterm babies (born 34-36 weeks) will have breathing problems in the first two days of life. Researchers will enroll 300 infants and compare three different ultrasound scoring methods. The goal is to help doctors identify at-risk babies earlier and improve care.
