First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a lung ultrasound score can help predict if a newborn on a breathing machine is ready to be taken off. 71 infants in the NICU had an ultrasound before and after being removed from the ventilator. The goal was to see if the ultrasound score could tell doctors which babies would stay off the machine for more than 72 hours.
