New hope for lung transplant patients: experimental drug aims to prevent organ rejection

NCT ID NCT06948097

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether fostamatinib, an oral medication, is safe for lung transplant patients who develop antibodies against their new lungs. Thirty adult participants will take either the study drug or a placebo pill for eight weeks while continuing their standard transplant care. Researchers want to see if the drug can help prevent antibody-mediated rejection and clear harmful antibodies without causing serious side effects.
