New drug soak for donor lungs aims to ease transplant recovery
NCT ID NCT07410312
Summary
This early-stage study is testing if soaking donor lungs in a solution containing the drug Anakinra before transplant can prevent severe lung swelling and low oxygen levels after surgery. The goal is to help patients recover faster by reducing this common complication. About 20 lung transplant patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the treated lungs or standard care.
