Breath-Taking MRI: new scan spots lung trouble early in CF and asthma

NCT ID NCT02740868

First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests two new types of lung MRI (using special gases) to see if they can better detect lung problems in people with cystic fibrosis and asthma compared to healthy volunteers. About 30 people aged 8 and older will have these scans to check how well the images show lung structure and function. The goal is to improve how doctors monitor these lung diseases, not to treat them.
