Lung scan AI may predict breathing crisis severity

NCT ID NCT05278390

First seen Jun 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a computer program can automatically measure how much lung tissue is damaged on CT scans of people with severe breathing problems from COVID-19 or after surgery. Researchers will compare the scan results to a standard severity score to see if the automated method can reliably gauge how sick a patient is. The goal is to develop a faster, more objective way to assess lung injury in emergencies.
