First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at how small air sacs in the lungs (called atelectasis) change in children aged 1 to 6 during anesthesia for MRI scans. Researchers used a special imaging tool called electrical impedance tomography to measure these changes safely. The goal was to learn more about lung function during anesthesia to help make pediatric procedures even safer.
