Ohio launches massive lung cancer study: genetic testing vs standard care

NCT ID NCT03199651

Summary

This large Ohio study aims to see if advanced genetic testing of tumors helps people with advanced lung cancer live longer compared to usual care. Researchers will enroll over 3,500 participants with stage IV lung cancer to compare two approaches: one group gets detailed tumor testing to guide treatment, while the other receives standard care. The study also includes a smoking cessation program for participants and their household members who smoke.
