New Quit-Smoking program tested for firefighters at high risk for lung cancer
NCT ID NCT05997225
Summary
This study tested a new, more proactive way to help retired firefighters quit smoking to prevent lung cancer. It compared a standard quit-smoking program against an enhanced one that automatically enrolled people, used personalized lung scan results for motivation, and started medication earlier. The goal was to see which approach helped more high-risk smokers successfully enroll in treatment and quit tobacco for good.
