Which lung biopsy is safest and most accurate? new study has answers

NCT ID NCT07432503

First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looked at three ways to take a small sample of lung tissue (biopsy) in 60 people with interstitial lung diseases, a group of lung conditions that can be hard to diagnose. The goal was to see which method—using forceps, a freezing probe (cryobiopsy), or a small camera through the chest wall—gives the most accurate diagnosis with the fewest side effects. The results help doctors choose the best technique for each patient.
