Lung germs linked to pneumonia in brain surgery patients

NCT ID NCT07129174

First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026

Summary

This study follows 220 ICU patients after brain surgery to see how the balance of bacteria in their lungs changes while on a breathing machine. Researchers will collect lung fluid samples to track these changes and see if they are linked to developing pneumonia. The goal is to find ways to detect lung infections earlier and personalize treatment for faster recovery.
