First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study is testing whether an artificial intelligence (AI) tool called Sybil can better predict lung cancer risk than current methods. Researchers will also see if expanding screening guidelines to include more smokers can catch cancers earlier. About 2,500 people aged 50-80 who smoke or used to smoke will participate. The goal is to improve early detection and save lives.
