New rapid test could speed up blood clot diagnosis
NCT ID NCT04737954
First seen Jun 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study checked if a new, fast blood test (LumiraDx D-Dimer) can accurately help diagnose dangerous blood clots in the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism). Researchers compared the new test to a standard lab test in 679 adults with symptoms. The goal was to see if the quick test could reliably rule out clots when used with a doctor's risk assessment.
