Can a simple injection regrow knee cartilage? new trial hopes so
NCT ID NCT04097379
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested an experimental drug called LRX712 in 45 people with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis. The goal was to see if multiple injections into the knee could safely help regrow cartilage, the cushioning tissue that wears down in arthritis. While the treatment aims to repair joint structure, it is not a cure, and ongoing management of osteoarthritis is still needed.
