New study: simple blood test may spot hidden heart dangers after stent surgery

NCT ID NCT07197242

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring a substance in the blood called lipoprotein(a) can help predict future heart problems in people who have had a stent placed to open a blocked artery. Researchers will follow 156 adults for one year after their procedure to see who has a heart attack or needs another procedure. The goal is to learn if Lp(a) levels can improve how doctors estimate heart risk.
